Uptown Seaton

Pickering, Ontario

The City Of Pickering is a rapidly growing metropolitan region on the north shore of Lake Ontario. Throughout the years, suburban development has created unsustainable development that has deteriorated our lives and the environment. Our mission as a team of urban planners is to transform the town of Seaton into a sustainable, mixed used, urban town integrated with parks, institutions, and open spaces that will expand the City Of Pickering’s capacity for urban living, employment and recreation.

Uptown Seaton will be a development which uses all of the resources at its fingertips efficiently. It will be a livable town where residents can walk down the street to the corner store or to visit neighbours. It will be a city centre with thousands of jobs. It will be a mixed use streetscape with shops, restaurants, and pedestrians. And it will be a world leader in sustainable energy technology and building construction.

Uptown Seaton endeavours to improve quality of life by preserving the natural environment, and enhancing the urban environment. Its neighbourhoods will fed with local food, and will be be walkable and dense, limiting wasted space and saving time for residents. Its infrastructure systems will find every efficiency, using less water and power, and it will generate its own energy through rooftop solar panels.
